This week has been a little cray-cray!
Anybody else with me?
We had MAP testing and benchmark testing squished into 3 days!
We had a professional development today and a workday tomorrow.
I'm here to share my daily schedule with you by linking up to Amelia's fun party!
I love seeing how other teachers plan out their days! Here's a peek a typical day in room 211.
7:10-8:00 Arrival, Breakfast, Morning Routine
We have breakfast in the classroom. While they are eating, they are usually finishing up the drawings in their SS/Science notebooks from the day before. I also have one group a day exchange their books from their book boxes.
8:00-9:30 Math (Group 1)
I have my teaching partner's class during this time. I do a whole group lesson till about 8:30, then we spend the next hour doing math rotations. I have 4 groups that rotate every 15 minutes! This is one of my favorite times of the day.
9:30-10:20 Special Area
Library, Art, Music, Computer, PE
Our school is busting at the seams, so art and music is actually held in our classroom. Wednesdays we have a grade level meeting and Thursdays are our TCT (Teacher Coach/Teacher) meeting where we meet with our instructional coaches, principal, and assistant principal.
10:20-11:00 SS/Science (Group 1)
We do 4 weeks of SS and then 4 weeks of Science. I find it makes more sense to teach these subjects in units.
11:00-11:40 SS/Science (Group 2)
We do the same thing as above, but now with my homeroom class.
We eat lunch with our students and on the way back to class take a restroom break.
12:15-1:00 Math (Group 2)
I typically can get through the whole group and 1-2 rotations during this time.
My teaching partner and I take our kids to the playground and chit-chat while the kiddos play!
1:20-2:00 Math (Group 2)
We have a fresh fruits and vegetables program at our school, so 3 times a week we get a snack! We eat the snacks after recess while we finish up our rotations.
2:00-2:20 End of Day
This is a busy time of day! We fill out our behavior calendar, reflect on our behavior goals, and I sign their agendas. Of course we pack up, clean up, collect pencils, etc.
My grade level rotates between the 4 different dismissal duties (car, bus, walkers, after-school care).
So that's a normal day...which we totally didn't have this week! Can't wait to get back to normal!! Go check out some other daily schedules at Where the Wild Things Learn.
